I clung to you like a sea urchin. Your tentacles were in all of my pies. . I was your scarecrow, stood on one post, with my hair in tatters. Doing all that I knew how to do. I became a scared crow.

The next few days and weeks took their own shape. Hands curled into one another, heads nuzzled. We became the inebriated gemini. Another memory takes it's cue. My outstretched hand holding a glass of red towards the lampshade, the light refracting and causing a maroon shadow on your cheek. You were nuzzled into my chest. I sucked on a cigarette and took care not to let any smouldering tobacco and paper fall on your face. During the return trips from my mouth to the empty can ashtray I planted kisses deep into your hair.
